State of San Andreas Department of Justice

San Andreas Department of Justice

The Department

The Department is the State’s court and its prosecutors. Criminal cases are captioned The People of the State of San Andreas. Civil claims for a sum of money are heard in Common Pleas.

What the Department does

The Superior Court of San Andreas hears civil and criminal matters. The Office of the Chief Prosecutor files criminal cases and motions in the name of the People. Judicial officers and employees of the Department receive answers and other papers in Common Pleas.

The public book of charges is the penal code. A published decision of the Court is case law. Both are part of the record the Department keeps: a charge has a code, a name, a type, a description, months in jail, license points, and a fine. A decision has a name, a short description, a date, and the PDF of the order.

Papers in a civil claim, and notices to a person who is not represented by an attorney, go through the TyGuys Roleplay Community Discord, under the San Andreas Rules of Civil Procedure.

The courthouse

The courthouse is the Judicial Services Complex at 843 Picture Perfect Drive, Los Santos. The Small Claims Courtroom is in Building B, on the first floor. The Saturday public hearing of Common Pleas is held in the Upstairs Courtroom.
